Trend Colors | Summer 2014
Summer is the time that we connect with family and friends in memorable ways. These memories include special places and activities like camping, lake houses, grandparent’s homes or activities like playing cards, board games, biking or sports. Color and design inspiration can be taken from these cherished memories. Use past moments in time or special keepsakes to inspire your decorating. Cherished items can be shared and re-purposed giving them new meaning. The best things in life are not shiny and new, but those that we hold dear and make us happy. Look around, color inspiration is everywhere.
Trend Watch
Comfort is the key to describe the toned and chalky colors found on our summer palette. These sun bleached hues pair well with the more saturated brights like orange and pink. Use these bright accents to paint chairs, tables or add these pops of color as accessories. Brights add interest, but use them in small doses as these colors can overwhelm. Well-worn tooled leather and vintage accessories and accents are currently influencing color trends. Open your closet and see tucked away treasures that can offer the perfect color inspiration.
