Purchasing Intern

About the role: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Intern to join our supply chain team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in purchasing activities, contributing to the efficiency and success of our procurement process. As a Purchasing Intern, you will work closely with our purchasing team to gain practical knowledge in various aspects of the supply chain.

What you’ll do:

  • Understanding the Role of Purchasing in the Supply Chain: Learn the importance of purchasing and how it interacts with different supply chain functions.

  • Learning IFS Basic Data: Get acquainted with our ERP system (IFS), focusing on the essential data supporting purchasing activities.

  • Supporting Business & Systems Tasks: Assist in daily purchasing operations, including managing procurement systems and ensuring accurate data input.

  • Demand Analysis: Assist in analyzing purchasing trends and demand to help forecast future needs.

  • Purchase Order Entry: Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring all details are correct and aligned with company standards.

  • Vendor Follow-Up: Communicate with vendors to confirm order statuses, lead times, and resolve any potential issues.

  • Receipt Management: Assist in overseeing the receipt of purchased goods, ensuring timely deliveries, and reconciling purchase orders with received shipments.

What skills and experience you’ll need:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Basic understanding of supply chain and purchasing concepts is a plus.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).

  • Ability to work well in a team and independently.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Starting pay for this position is $17.00 per hour.
