Diamond Vogel has a full-time position available in our Technical Services Department located in Menomonee Falls, WI, for an R&D Chemist. Responsibilities will involve several areas including, but not limited to: researching new technologies, developing product formulations and specifications, evaluating and recommending new materials, investigating and resolving Quality Control inspection discrepancies, evaluating and determining corrective action for customer complaints, supporting, training, and/or mentoring other technical services personnel, and giving necessary direction, support, and recommendations to the manufacturing team, customers, and sales team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Conduct research on manufactured products to develop and improve products
· Take ownership of chemistry development projects
· Maintain regulatory integrity of new products, i.e. VOC’s and MIR’s
· Prepare standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products, and tests
· Choose economically efficient means to accomplish requirements
· Provide production assistance when requested
· Organize equipment, files, records, and materials to group and individual requirements
· Meet and exceed the requirements of internal and external customers
· Possess a good working knowledge of polymers, milling pigments, and colors
· Apply deductive principles to new product development and raw material qualification
Mathematical Skills & Reasoning:
· Ability to comprehend and apply principles of formula mathematics, modern algebra, and statistical theory
· Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
